WHAT MY 1 YEAR OLD EATS IN A DAY | Easy and Healthy Meal Ideas for a Toddler!

whoa that was hot girl no this is not ready yet this is not right don't even look at it it's not ready. good morning everyone sage it's enough ice teaming can you say hi want to say hi yeah good morning everyone we're just starting our day sage is feisty this morning okay we gotta go but um yeah just woke up just finished breastfeeding her and i'm gonna start the day make a make a tea get her breakfast ready and today's video is very exciting i'm going to be sharing everything that me and my now one-year-old one-year-old eat in a day i can't believe she's one she definitely feels like she just turned into a toddler overnight and i'm really excited because today's video is actually sponsored by kiwiko and their yummy crate which is a new one and really excited to talk about them a little bit more in today's video but um first things first let's get breakfast going because this girl is a little wild this morning so in the morning sage just likes to play quietly with her toys we don't have any tv on right in the morning but once she gets fussy we will turn it on for a little bit while we're just getting ready for the day and getting her breakfast this one's actually also from kiwiko it's from their panda crate and she we brought it with us to florida and she loves it it has these little coins i love these like montessori.

style toys especially the ones that are made out of wood i just think they're more eco-friendly and she loves them wanna put the coin in yay and i also just got her a pink and purple truck that actually like dumps so cute it's this one's actually made out of recycled milk jugs i think and she loves it she puts like her lego and stuff in it ] i don't drink lemon water every single morning i'm just trying to get back to it because i do enjoy having it in the morning just like before my tea before my breakfast it's just super hydrating and just tastes really fresh to start your day with okay what does sage you want for breakfast today all right just made a little fruit salad i'm just trying to give sage more variety of flavors and combinations so she's had kiwi before but not often so i'm doing kiwi strawberry and banana and then we can have some of this as well for breakfast i'm not gonna put anything on it i might sprinkle a little bit of hemp hearts on top before serving but that is about it and then we have some leftover coconut apple oatmeal that i made in the rice cooker really simple and i'm gonna just heat that up and have it on the side of fruit salad  so we have sages apple oatmeal i spread out some of the fruit salad on the side and that is her breakfast and then i just have the fruit salad here on the side that i can just add more to it if i add too much here she'll just shovel it in and i try to avoid that so i just like add more as we go and i just sprinkled some hemp hearts on top of the fruit salad and oatmeal just for some extra protein and fiber and healthy fats also it hopefully makes it easier for her to grab is that kiwi slippery mmm so good i love these little spoons because they actually stand up mmm so good all right we just got back from a walk and i'm starving um i don't know why usually it's still early it's like 9 30 it's still early for me to have breakfast but i'm so hungry i think sage is breastfeeding so much lately that i'm burning more calories so anyways matt's gonna cook up some eggs and toast we'll have the rest of the fruit salad but i'm just having some um coconut popcorn with pink salt i mean it's a healthier popcorn but i just i was like shoveling it down i'm like i should probably film this because i want you guys just to see like the real life of things sometimes you just gotta like eat a quick snack in between meals just to keep your energy up but i'm so hungry the wok was really nice though it's so sunny out give me the monster swap thank you thank y'all hiya okay milky you want milky yeah you want milky someone's sleepy okay we're gonna put you to bed and then mommy and daddy are gonna eat breakfast hey everyone welcome to cooking with matt i am going to i'm just gonna do a couple of eggs here they're free range organic eggs and then we just got some toast so we're gonna do up probably two eggs each couple pieces of toast and then nicole's got that delicious fruit salad let's get cooking get that bad boy out all good a little salt little pepper toast a little butter we're good to go in my breakfast so i'm just getting a little work done i'm going to break and have some breakfast i love when it gets like all like flavorful and juicy like that from sitting for a bit this is not a normal weekday breakfast i would have this is more of like a weekend style usually i'll either have a smoothie or a bowl of oatmeal but there is nothing better than dippy fried eggs so good all right we decided to do a little pool day just for maybe an hour while the sun is out and got some snacks on that popcorn again and i also brought you know smart sweets and some strawberries for sage but we're going to go in the water while it's nice and hot and before sage officially needs for lunch lunch all right we are back from the pool it's a little bit later than it's a little bit later than sage's normal lunch time but she has some stuff we all had snacks at the pool i also ended up having a perfect perfect bar i'll put a photo of it here and we are having a little bit of a later lunch um but we're just gonna go to one of our usuals green eggs and peas it's one of sage's favorites so she already had her like fruit her dessert first so we're just gonna do some eggs with some chopped spinach and some frozen peas just boiled up super quick and simple and then she'll just have that before her nap and then for dinner sage is actually gonna be helping out so i'm very excited for that but i'm gonna get making her lunch uh so we can get it in her belly before she gets hangry because she's had a lot of snacks and strawberries and milk at the pool but i know she wants like her lunch lunch and sage is just playing on the floor what are you doing what are you doing don't pull those down where's teach where is she there she is where's sage what are you doing crazy girl whoa what are you doing hi you doing push-ups what are you doing this feels crazy all right got a bowl spinach just gonna cook the rest of them because she can even have them as a snack when she gets up from her nap and i normally do two eggs now but she had a lot of snacks so i'm just gonna do one because i don't think she'll eat more than that take a handful of spinach  add it to our eggs just a little bit of pepper i don't have any garlic powder but sometimes i add that as well  you know what i think i added too much spinach i might have to do another egg it's okay we'll have some extra for tomorrow that's another tip like anytime you're making something if you can make extra i would highly recommend that and the only reason i wasn't gonna make extras just because we're running out of containers at this airbnb but at home like if i'm making something i always double it or just make extra that way it can you know roll over to the next meal or the next day it just makes life so much easier so you just want the spinach small enough that they're not gonna have like big chunks of spinach and it cooks up pretty quickly because it's just baby spinach whoa that was hot we have some eggs bon appetit lunch is served we're just gonna let this cool man these stick really good to the counter all right sage is ready to eat so we're gonna get her in her high chair you're gonna have your lunch whoa that's a lot peas gonna have.

some eggs too honey she always goes for the piece first that's like her favorite food okay we have your water for after you're good um okay okay let's put some of the egg here too okay not just the peas good girl okay good girl so i know everyone feeds their kids different ways but i keep getting a lot of questions on how i've gotten sage to be a good intuitive eater and not be picky yet i mean there's still time for her to be selective of what she eats and doesn't eat um honestly i i feel like i could do a whole video on it so if you want me to do that leave a comment you okay is that is that pee making you angry okay now if you want me to do a video about that like different ways to get your little ones to be good eaters leave me a comment down below comment comment the word green peas and that could be our secret our secret uh word for that i feel like it's a bit of like you know luck sometimes but also i feel like there are things that i purposely have done that have helped sage just be a more adventurous eater yeah yeah you want water she's just gonna spill it everywhere good girl good wow that's good the other thing i really like to do is just give her variety at each meal so she can pick and choose what she wants to eat and i don't necessarily like separate you know sweets from savory foods i mix her fruit in with her mane she's just not having it right now because she already had her strawberries but a lot of times she'll eat her greens before her strawberries or vice versa so it's not necessarily like babies always want sweets first i think babies like all different types of flavor and textures and colors yeah and i like that she can see her food i feel like when you blend everything up all together all the time they can't distinguish like what is what in their food and then when they do see that food they might be like oh i don't like broccoli because i've never actually seen it if it's just been blended up in sauces so you don't always have to hide the veggies for i think kids to enjoy them i think it's good for them to see them as well  we often joke that if we were just to keep her in the high chair all day to eat she would yeah and we just ordered some sushi for lunch we got spicy salmon california and this is a salmon and avocado roll just something really quick and easy we've never ordered from this place before but it smells really good and i'm just gonna eat it while i do a little work and sage is taking her nap all right before sage wakes up i want to talk about kiwi co and their new yummy crate this is so exciting right up my alley cooking with kids i'm so excited for sage to like fully be able to like cook with me on her little like one of those little stools that are next to you and you're like baking and cooking together so this i think is going to be so helpful to so many families you guys know we love subscription boxes with sage ever since she was a newborn we've been getting toy ones and kiwi co has a bunch of different crates and the last one i shared was their panda one which is a toy subscription box all of their crates are steam based which stands for science technology engineering arts and math and i'm really excited so this yummy crate is focused on food they have recipes that you can cook with your kids they are tested by families tested by kids and all taste delicious and this one here i'll do a little unboxing before sage gets up because now she's just crazy so it's hard to like talk to you guys as well um but this one here you're gonna get recipes in every single crate that you can pick and choose what to create and it really helps get your kids involved with the cooking process i definitely believe that if they are involved in actually creating and preparing the recipes they're more likely to make it i've actually done similar things with my nieces and nephew growing up and i feel like they ate foods that they probably wouldn't have ate if they were just served it but i got them you know helping in the kitchen i remember one time we were like grating fennel which is a very distinct flavor and they totally ate it and loved it so i definitely think you know think outside think outside the box literally and you know just get your kids experimenting getting hands-on experience with creating their meals and i think they're more likely to love it and enjoy it so this one here comes with a bunch of different recipes i already know which one i'm gonna make with sage so like i said this crate in particular is for kids a little bit older this one is from ages 6 to 14.

um so a little bit older than sage but i know a lot of you guys watching my channel have kids older than sage so i thought it'd be perfect to share this with you guys and like i said sage is already getting involved in the kitchen with me and she's just so like active and busybody all the time right now that it's just something fun for her to do and it helps keep her engaged and i think this is going to be really fun so they have so many different plans and crates that you can choose from depending on the age and the interest of your kids you guys can check out my link down below to get 50 off your first crate it ships in two days so super fast and you can start uh whether it's creating recipes with your kids or checking out their toy subscriptions they have things for all ages and interests you'll definitely find something that works for your kids and your family but i'm gonna start prepping dinner a little bit

early just so like sage can help out with the prep and i'll just give her like a fun activity to do i already have some potatoes here so i'm probably just gonna pre get these boiling now uh because sage usually goes to bed quite not early early but like i guess for regular people it seems early her bedtime's like 6 30 so i want to get this like done early they have the ingredients all listed on the back as well as the tools you're going to need and i love that there's little check boxes that you can just check them off and the nice thing too is you can obviously reuse them so you can just collect them put them in this spot in your kitchen and have them ready to go when you're like what do we eat for dinner you know i'm going to give them a rinse so the recipe doesn't say to peel them but i'm just gonna peel them just to make it a little easier for sage to eat because she got no teeth well she's got front teeth but no uh molars yet and i just want to make sure like she can eat these since we're gonna roast them this girl's still sucking her thumb you still sleepy yeah you tired from the pool we also went in the um the splash pad too and she was enjoying that okay i got the potatoes boiling we're gonna let those cook i think it says like eight or ten minutes and then we'll get we'll let them cool a little and we get our sous chef to smash them yeah we're gonna use that tool oh do you want some teething medicine.

yeah come on kiss oh dad you want to play with that okay how did she spot this i just washed the thing that we're gonna use to smash them yeah let me try it and i swear she was pointing at it on the dish rack you think it's a toy there's another piece to it i know do you want to sit in your chair and you can play with it if nothing else this is exciting what's that what's that yeah i'm also having a little grapefruit sparkling water i'm really into these right now so good all right potatoes are drained i just have a baking sheet here i'm going to line it with some parchment paper all right i'm going to let the potatoes cool a little bit i'm just going to arrange the potatoes oh hot probably let them cool longer than i am okay guess what you're gonna help okay you're gonna take this and we'll smush it like this yeah smash did you poop hold on top one two smash here you can have that okay note to self let them snack after they're done yay and smash good job got a couple more to go then we're going to put a little bit of butter on each one one more okay um here how about you take she's like i don't want to wait for it to be baked okay so we're going to put a little dollop of butter on each one that's just what we have so i thought that would be yummy and then we're gonna bake them it says for 25 minutes to 40 minutes but since i don't want them too crisped up so she can still eat them easy with her lack of teeth maybe we'll just do like 10 minutes let the buttermilk get a little crispy maybe 15.

we'll keep an eye on them i only have the temperature at 400 degrees fahrenheit okay you want a little bit okay okay okay we'll leave one out for you right now okay there's some butter on that one she doesn't want the the crispin up she's like i just want to eat some smash and then i'm gonna just heat up there's some grass-fed beef i think with mushrooms in here yeah mushrooms and some peas i'm just gonna warm this up and then she'll have it with her mashed potatoes that she's already eating no this is not ready yet this is not red don't even look at it it's not ready all right sage's dinner is done so i just heated up the ground beef with mushrooms and peas we got the smashed smashed potatoes and some strawberries today has been a strawberry day and sage left a mess but i might just let her like pick at this as well this was a hit just as a toy even um but yeah she's gonna have that and then i'll just get her some water okay okay mat is in the wash though okay there you go okay mm-hmm okay it's good do you like it so this is what matt and i are having for dinner we have the potatoes that sage made super simple salad i just did spinach spinach sliced toasted almonds a little lemon juice and then some salt and pepper uh we don't have any vinegar at this house yet so lemon works these are chicken sausages that we just did on the pan matt has a little hot sauce on his which i might do the same but uh yeah that is our dinner we're gonna eat this and then we actually have a late call tonight so we're gonna hop on that this is just a nice simple dinner meat potatoes salad all right there you have it an entire day of what my my our one-year-old ate today as well as what we ate and if you guys like these types of videos be sure to give it a thumbs up also another huge thank you to kiwi co for sponsoring this video make sure you check out the link in the info box um to get 50 off your first crate honestly you will love them they have so many different options check them out and we are gonna eat our dinner hop on our call and relax i feel like it was a really good day a little relaxation a little work a little play.
