How can we beat depression?

what's up boys it girls hey dudes they is Courtney J here and today I'm going to be talking about how to beat depression now in my last video I did talk about depression and how he has personally affected me and I thought that I could just highlight the key aspects what I use to try and get past it and betta and just be better in life and live a happier life from just doing these few tips so hopefully if they can help you that would make me feel amazing and hopefully I make you feel amazing too so first things first that would be to stay positive and I know that is like an obvious thing but it is really a key aspect of being happy and getting better and one of the ways what I find is the best way to be positive is having a hobby doing something that you really enjoy and know that you can get better at I suppose so in our example this for me is my youtube I started it about two years ago and when I first started I thought I'd only get maximum of like 10 subscribers and that's not the case anymore I actually have over 9,000 subscribers which is just a crazy amount and it's amazing to see my channel growing every single day not only does it mean that I'm getting better doing YouTube videos it also means that a lot more people are starting to find my channel and really enjoy it to make the time to subscribe and watch me and I think that's amazing to see my own personal growth and it also gives me that confidence to know that I am good at something and I can say to myself hey whenever fits all crap and bad at least you are good at this and at least you're doing something with this and I think that's an amazing feeling and it's something what I personally have to do for myself another thing I'd recommend is getting into a spa or going to a gym now body confidence is probably one of the biggest aspects for causing depression now I know personally that I look at my body every now and again and I kind of feel disgusted and the way I look it can be from the shape of my nose to thinking that I have manboobs to thinking that I've put on weight in my tummy and in most cases you may have put a little bit of weight on but it's an easy thing to change and one of the best things from going to the gym is also seeing your personal progress getting better at something seeing that you can lift more or you can run for longer or you are losing a little bit of weight or you're putting on muscle mass and these things can make you feel great and I know there's plenty of times where I've gone come out the German I feel amazing because I know that I'm personally making a change the next thing I'm going to recommend is having a friend or a family member you are close to and being able to talk to them now my personal coping mechanism for this is I went on a site called interpals and it's a site where you can talk to complete strangers and its really cool because you can meet people around the world and they just want to have a conversation and it's really nice to know that people just want to have a conversation and it's amazing what you can share with a stranger what you can't share with a friend or a family member and it's amazing how you can make new friends but the family member and friends do work because sometimes your friend your family member is going through the exact same thing as you and you can both be a foundation for each other in getting better when you're feeling down you go to the other person they can pick you back up when they're feeling down you can pick them up and it's just a reverse cycle and you keep doing it and one day you're going to not need it and that's gonna be the best day because that's the day you know that you are definitely getting better and the third thing I'm going to recommend is changing up your diet if you're eating rubbish you're going to feel like rubbish you are what you eat so eat a little bit healthier and you will definitely feel the changes because when you've eaten rubbish you feel fatigued you feel tired and that's gonna make you feel non motivated it's not gonna make you want to do things and then you're gonna start to notice that you're not doing things and then you're gonna get yourself down because you want to do things.

but just too tired to do it and that brings our cooking another great way to stay motivated and positive you can cook the same dish three times and each time it can taste even more better it's a great way to see personal progress and personal growth and if you're doing something which I know you're getting better at it makes you feel great Risa's the endorphins and then you're gonna start bringing down that depression level to a happiness level and I know this all seems like all these are really small things but it's the small things were added up to the massive things so I'm just gonna quickly apologize here about my audio I have to go for the camera at the moment because my phone is actually my audio recorder but there's something I really want to tell you about and it's the fourth thing that you can do do help with your depression and that is the NHS go it's part of a campaign which I have to promote with a few other youtubers like Riyadh Khalifa and Hannah Witton and we all think he's an amazing idea what you guys should definitely try out it's just a little app and it's everything what the NHS does crammed into one lap for you to find out all the information that you need to know now they've been working on this app for a while and they know a lot of people end up searching the internet to try and find out what's wrong with them and you end up spending hours and hours and by the end of it you think you have the Black Plague or some sort of skinny virus which is gonna kill you in like two days and this is just to help you get past that and actually find the information that you need to know to help you get better so as I said it does have depression on here it has depression anxiety sleep sex and relationships our gbt has information about coming out all the things that might get you down Oh some of the information that you need to know about just generally training and getting better and I think it's a brilliant app I wouldn't promote it if I didn't and I think it's something that all you guys could have a look at I know how nerve-racking it can be to go to the doctors and ask them there's something wrong my body can you have a look at it and it's a scary thing to ask a complete stranger to look you over and for them to be just buoyant and say yeah you've got this so this app.
